FAQ

When should my child start seeing a dentist?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry suggests a child should see a dentist by age 1 or no later than 6 months after the first tooth erupts.

What ages of patients do you see?

The Family Smiles adventure is for people of every age, 0 to 99. We love treating kids, but no one is too old or too young to be a part of the most amazing dental experience in town.

Do you accept cash if I don't have insurance?

We do! In fact, we have an amazing discount plan for all our cash patients. That plan includes a free limited exam twice a year. What do I need to bring with me on my first visit?

You’ll need an ID card and an insurance card, if applicable. But more importantly, you’ll need your sense of adventure, your love for your town, your empty pockets for gold coins and your excitement to discover just how amazing a dental visit can be.

If my child needs treatment can I go into the treatment room with them?

Parents, we are true partners in this adventure. We don’t move forward without your okay. We’ll work together to determine the best path for behavioral management and we always let you make the final choice. In order to get the best behavior from their child, some parents choose not to be in the treatment room.  In these cases, we’ll provide you with frequent updates and a Charlie Cam (in most offices) so that you can watch all the treatments that we decide together is needed. We make sure that you always have complete oversight and control of your child’s care.
